John P. Shibles '65 (1947-2023)
John P. Shibles ‘65 was a real estate investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist for over 50 years. After graduating from Saint Joseph High School in the founding class of 1965, Shibles went on to earn an economics degree from Quincy University and a Masters in Business Administration from Pace University.
Shibles has owned or partnered in 47 projects including houses and condos, as well as retail partnerships with Home Depot, CVS and Chipotle. As a philanthropist, Shibles supported numerous charities and organizations. During Saint Joe’s capital campaign in 2003, he and his late wife, Teri, built the Memorial Courtyard, dedicated to those Brothers of the Sacred Heart and Partners in Mission that have served the school, as well as the 9/11 Memorial which honors fallen alumni. This past year, Shibles made a major gift to benefit the Saint Joseph Robotics Program.
