The two-time defending state championship Saint Joseph Volleyball Team are looking to continue wreaking havoc in Central Jersey and beyond.

Led by head coach Miguel Cabrita ‘91, Saint Joe’s enters the season as the No. 10 ranked team in the Northeast by USA Today.

The Falcons will employ a younger squad than previous years, with a mix of returning veterans and new players entering the fold.

Sam Contursi ‘25, Gian Gomez ‘25, Michael Marcassoli ‘25, Dominic Nycz ‘26  and Carter Tarpley ‘26 are the go-to returning options for Coach Cabrita’s squad.

Saint Joe’s dominated on the court last year, winning their final seven matches of the season, including six state tournament victories. The Falcons defeated Garfield, 2-0, for the NJSIAA Group 2 title. The squad was the only repeat state champion in New Jersey.

Saint Joe's volleyball player Scott Schmitt spikes the ball.
