Team Overview
HISTORY
The Saint Joseph Volleyball program has made headlines across the state since 2023, being the only team in New Jersey to win three consecutive NJSIAA State Championships (2023, 2024 & 2025) in the tournament's current format. In total, the Falcons have won six state titles, eight state sectional championships and six Greater Middlesex Conference crowns.
TRAINING
The volleyball program competes during the Spring season, beginning in early March and culminating with the state tournament in June. Games and practices are held inside Maglio Gymnasium.
TEAMS LEVELS & COMPETITION
Saint Joseph Volleyball annually fields three levels of competition (varsity, junior varsity and freshman). All three levels compete in the Greater Middlesex Conference, which is comprised of schools in and around Middlesex County. Each year, the volleyball team maintains one of the strongest schedules in New Jersey, competing against schools such as Southern Regional, Bloomfield and Old Bridge.

Meet the Coaches
VOLLEYBALL Coaches
Miguel Cabrita ’91 is the Assistant Principal, Director of Admissions, and Head Volleyball Coach at Saint Joseph High School. A proud member of the Class of 1991 and a longtime leader in the Saint Joe’s community, Cabrita has guided the Falcons’ volleyball program to outstanding success over more than two decades. Under his leadership, the team has captured numerous conference and sectional titles, and Cabrita reached a major coaching milestone by earning his 500th career victory, a testament to his sustained excellence and impact on the sport.
In his administrative roles, Cabrita contributes to the academic and community life of the school by overseeing admissions initiatives and supporting students’ educational journeys. Known for his commitment to developing both strong athletes and well-rounded individuals, he continues to be a respected mentor, educator, and coach at Saint Joseph High School.

NJ Premier Volleyball Summer Camp
NJ Premier Volleyball Camp is ready to help students up their game in volleyball, while also learning core values and teamwork.
NJ Premier Volleyball Camp is in its 15th year and was founded by Miguel Cabrita, Head Boys Volleyball Coach for Saint Joseph H.S. in Metuchen, NJ. With over 30 years of collegiate and high school coaching experience, Coach Cabrita has developed a camp that not only concentrates on the fundamentals of volleyball for beginners but also challenges the experienced players who are looking to elevate their game.
Coach Cabrita has personally selected the coaching staff to ensure that a strong representation of the most talented collegiate coaches and high school coaches from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania are available to guide and instruct the volleyball campers with the most up-to-date techniques and skills. NJ Premier Volleyball Camp prides itself on having the best coach-to-player ratio for any camp with 1 coach to every 9 players. No other camp in the area can measure up to the experience level and accolades of the NJ Premier Volleyball Coaches.
