Team Overview
HISTORY
The Saint Joseph Soccer program is rich with history, dating back to the late 1960s, winning the school's first state championship in 1971. The Falcons are a program on the rise, winning back-to-back Greater Middlesex Conference titles in 2024 and 2025. Saint Joe's is led by Jason Montesinos, who was hired as head coach in April 2026.
TRAINING
The soccer program competes during the Fall season, beginning with official practice in early August and culminating with the state tournament in Nocember. Games and practices are held on Brenner Family Field Field. During the offseason, the team participates in the overall athletic department's weight lifting & conditioning program in Woodburn Hall, as well as summer training opportunities.
Team levels & competition
Saint Joseph Soccer fields three levels of competition annually (freshman, junior varsity and varsity). All three levels compete in the Greater Middlesex Conference, which is comprises of schools in and around Middlesex County. Each year, the Falcons compete against some of the best teams in New Jersey during both their conference and non-conference slate.

Meet the Coaches
Soccer Coaches
Jason Montesinos returns to Saint Joseph High School as head soccer coach, bringing with him a strong background in player development, team culture, and competitive success. A familiar face within the Falcon community, Montesinos previously served as a JV and assistant coach at Saint Joe’s from 2014 to 2017 before leading the boys soccer program at Wardlaw-Hartridge School beginning in 2017. During his tenure there, he earned Greater Middlesex Conference Gold Division Coach of the Year honors twice and built a program known for consistency, preparation, and relentless competitiveness.
In addition to his high school coaching experience, Montesinos is the founder and director of Valencia Soccer Academy, where he has helped develop players in a structured, long-term training environment. His club teams have captured a United States Youth Soccer Regional Championship, reached multiple state and national finals, and consistently competed at a high level. Known for his philosophy of “Possession with a Purpose” and a mindset built on being brave, relentless, and confident, Montesinos is committed to helping Saint Joseph student-athletes grow both on and off the pitch while continuing the proud tradition of Falcon Soccer.
