A new era for Saint Joseph Basketball is here!
Mark Taylor '83 returns to Maglio Gymnasium, a spot he knew quite well as a Saint Joe's student in the early 1980s and as head coach from 1997-2006.
The New Jersey Basketball Hall of Honors inductee brings nearly three decades of coaching experience back to his alma mater. During his first stint as head coach, Taylor won two NJSIAA Non-Public Section titles, two Greater Middlesex County titles, and seven division titles. He developed two of the best basketball players in school history, National High School Player of the Year and McDonald's All-American Jay Williams '99 and McDonalds All-American Andrew Bynum '05. Both were NBA Draft Lottery picks.
Taylor's return to Metuchen marks the start of a new era at Saint Joe's, with high expectations for a team that has been a perennial powerhouse in New Jersey over the last decade.
Historically, Saint Joe’s has two Non-Public A championships (2012 and 2014). The Falcons won an overall state title in 2014.
