After School Academic Program (ASAP)
The After School Academic Program (ASAP) is a unique tutoring program offered at Saint Joseph High School. The program has the mission of making sure that no student at Saint Joe’s falls behind academically. Students who fail a class or do not maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 are invited into the program. ASAP is a two hour tutorial program that occurs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school in the Zenga Library and Media Center. There are peer tutors available.
Having students work with one other enhances the already strong sense of community at Saint Joseph High School. Students being tutored are also assisted by the educational program Acellus. This innovative academic program is designed to work at the pace that the student is capable of working.
The program is operated by teachers who actively work with students and the students' teachers to ensure that the students are afforded every possible opportunity to improve their grades and thus reach their academic potential. ASAP is more than a school within a school; it is also a catalyst for further developing the community here at Saint Joe’s.
