Saint Joseph Parents Club: A Tradition of Support
Isaiah Mettle '26 & Casey Fugere '26

METUCHEN, NJ - The Parents Club continued their longstanding tradition of supporting the mission of Saint Joseph High School with annual fundraising events that bring the community together.

The Mother’s Club celebrated the 50th annual Basket Raffle on March 1 in the Maglio Gymnasium. Attendees joined together for a social evening and also had a chance to win a variety of prizes including high-end fashion pieces, kitchen appliances, and electronic devices.

All the participants involved enjoyed the thrill of winning items while also conversing with those around them, making new friends and increasing the bond at Saint Joe’s.

In the Catanzaro Dining Hall, the Fathers Club was busy cooking up delicious meals to serve to the Saint Joseph community during their Lenten Fish Fry on March 7 and April 11.

“It was probably the most successful Fish Fry that we’ve had,” Fathers Club President Vince Sollecito P‘08/’11 said. “The dads were unbelievable in cooking and expediting the food. The boys were incredible in taking the orders. We had a house full of people.”

Hosted by the fathers of Falcons past and present, attendees shared in fellowship while also enjoying fish-centered meals. The event connected the parents who cooked the food together with the students who served the meals to guests. Options included fried fish, shrimp, calamari, scallops, eggplant parmesan, and more.

Sollecito attributes the success of the Parents Club to the long lasting relationships that have been built between club members, some of which have lasted decades.

“21 years later, some of these dads that I met at that first September meeting in 2004 are still my friends today,” Sollecito said. “My involvement here, I would never give it up.”
