One of the best starts to a season in Saint Joseph Football history continued on Friday night at Brenner Family Field.
Four touchdowns on the team’s first four possessions got the No. 15 Falcons rolling to a 40-14 victory over North Brunswick during the second annual Friday Night Lights game.
Class of 2026 quarterback Justin Scaramuzzo’s string of high quality performances continued as the signal caller threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third. Running back Javon Hudson joined the scoring frenzy with two of his own rushing touchdowns to lead Saint Joe’s to their fifth straight victory to open the season.
Hudson got the scoring started early on the first drive of the game with a 2-yard rushing touchdown. Following Ashton Irving’s state-leading sixth interception, he connected with Scaramuzzo for a 51-yard passing score to put the Falcons on top 14-0.
Jacob Pappas ‘25 added the team’s third score in the opening quarter on a 42-yard pass from Scaramuzzo before Hudson steamrolled through the Raiders’ defensive front for his second score of the game.
Saint Joe’s put up 31 points in the first half, the most in any half this season.
Through the first five games of the season, Scaramuzzo eclipsed 1,000 passing yards and has 15 touchdowns, including 10 through the air. Irving and Pappas each have four scores a piece.
With the victory, the Falcons improve to 5-0 on the season with a key Big Central Conference interdivisional game at No. 19 Phillipsburg set for Friday.
