The Saint Joseph Football team is back on top.

After dominating Westfield on the road, 35-16, last Saturday and starting the season with an undefeated 4-0 record, the Falcons claimed the Big Central Conference American Gold division title.

Quarterback Justin Scaramuzzo ‘26 threw for a career-high five touchdown passes, including two to Jacob Pappas ‘25 to lead Saint Joe’s to the victory.

The Falcons trailed 3-0 after a first quarter field goal from Westfield’s Enzo Ferrero, however the rest of the game was all Saint Joe’s.

Scaramuzzo threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter, a 66-yarder to Pappas, an 11-yard pass to Triston Bester, and a 74-yard bomb to Ashton Irving ‘25. Pappas and Tom Meyers ‘26 each scored in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Falcons forced four turnovers, including a conference-leading fifth pick from Irving. Javon Hudson ‘25 and Jaylen Frias ‘XX each had seven tackles in the game.

The Falcons are back in action this week for the second Friday Night Lights game in school history. Saint Joe’s hosts North Brunswick. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
