James Mulvaney ‘23 threw a 5-hit shutout, while striking out five to earn the victory.
With the game scoreless in the top of the fourth inning, Tyler Delvecchio ‘23 crushed a mammoth home run to left center field, providing the Falcons with the only run they needed.
Will Ramsay ‘23 added an RBI double in the top of the seventh to pad the lead. He had two of Saint Joe’s five hits off Rutgers-commit Zachary Konstantinovsky.
Saint Joe’s is now tied with Edison for the most GMC championships in conference history.
The Falcons are one of the hottest teams in the state, winning 15 out of their last 17 games. Saint Joe's plays at Seton Hall Prep on Monday in their final tune-up before the state tournament.
As the No. 2 seed in the NJSIAA Non-Public A - South, the Falcons earned a bye into the second round where they await the winner of No. 7 Paul VI and No. 10 Immaculata.
