Saint Joseph High School of Metuchen is accepting nominations for Class of 2023 induction to its Athletics Hall of Fame.

The nomination process provides an opportunity for followers of the school’s storied sports programs to nominate student-athletes, coaches, athletics administrators, teams, and people who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Saint Joseph athletics for induction to the prestigious Athletics Hall of Fame.

“The Saint Joseph Athletics Hall of Fame is a special place and serves as a source of pride for the entire Falcon family,” Saint Joseph High School President John Nolan said. “The Hall of Fame is a celebration of our commitment to excellence in all endeavors, including academics, athletics, and sportsmanship. We encourage supporters and followers of our sports programs to nominate a Falcon great.”

Information about the Saint Joseph High School Athletics Hall of Fame can be found online at saintjosephhalloffame.com, where instructions and guidelines for nomination are clearly delineated.

Nomination forms can be completed online and will also be accepted via email (rcarter@stjoes.org), certified mail (Athletics Hall of Fame, Saint Joseph High School, 145 Plainfield Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840) or can be dropped off at the high school’s main office. Deadline for nominations is March 1.

Inductees bring recognition, acclaim, and pride to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and to Saint Joseph High School. Their record of sportsmanship and lifestyle of integrity and probity makes them role models for current and future Saint Joseph High School student-athletes.

Student-athletes who graduated from Saint Joseph High School in May 2017 or before, lettered in a varsity sport, attended Saint Joseph High School for at least three years, and possess a record of high performance and excellence are eligible for Class of 2023 induction.

Coaches or athletics administrators whose tenure at Saint Joseph concluded on or before March 1, 2018, are eligible for Class of 2023 induction.

Teams whose seasons concluded on or before March 1, 2018, are eligible for Class of 2023 induction.

Individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Saint Joseph High School’s athletics program are eligible at any time for nomination.

The Hall of Fame selection committee, which Saint Joseph High School Athletics Director Ryan Carter (’91) chairs, bridges the decades spanning the school’s founding through the present and represents a cross section of Saint Joseph athletics programs.

An advisory committee consisting of current and former Saint Joseph coaches, Partners in Mission and alumni assists the selection committee.

Inductees for the Class of 2023 will be selected this spring and feted during a Saint Joseph High School Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will take place in the fall.

One of Middlesex County’s most successful scholastic athletics program since the high school was founded in 1961, Saint Joseph has won more than 160 county or conference titles and 45 state crowns in 15 varsity sports.

Saint Joseph has produced professional athletes and countless scholastic All-American, All-State, All-County or All-Conference performers, and NCAA student-athletes.
