Saint Joseph Giving Tuesday Fundraiser to Support New Weight Room, The Barn

Saint Joseph High School is excited to announce its Giving Tuesday 2023 fundraising initiative, The Barn - a new weight room facility.

Located behind Woodburn Hall, The Barn will be a go-to place for the entire student community to improve their physical and mental health through proper weight lifting and conditioning practices. 

“Woodburn Hall is a legendary building on campus that has been home to the school’s weight room for many years,” Nolan said. “As our student population has grown significantly in recent years, it is very apparent to the Board of Directors and school leadership that a new, more modern facility is vitally important to the development of a well-rounded student experience.”

The school is looking to raise $60,000 on Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023, to help offset the total cost of the project.

Close to 80 percent of the student body participates in a varsity sport at Saint Joe’s, and all students have access to use the weight room during supervised activities after school. 

With a dedicated space large enough for both team and individual training, The Barn will be a welcome addition for the entire school community.

“Our focus at Saint Joe’s is to create environments just as exceptional as the young men that frequent them,” Nolan said. “A new weight room facility, like The Barn, will allow our student-athletes to perform at the highest level and create a competitive advantage both on and off the field.”

According to Director of Athletics/Head Football Coach Bill Tracy, a new weight room will be a welcome addition for all athletic teams and the entire student body to enjoy.

“Weight training and conditioning is an important aspect of any team’s success,” Tracy said. “This new facility will create new opportunities for our student-athletes to compete at the championship-caliber level that our community has come to expect.”
