Students With Service Plans

Saint Joe’s is equipped to provide accommodations during instruction and on assessments. 

Saint Joe’s does NOT have the resources to modify the curriculum or assessments. Saint Joe’s does NOT have special education teachers in the classroom to provide individualized support. Saint Joe’s does NOT have the resources to conduct educational testing or diagnose disabilities. 

Accommodations Agreements Agreements prepared by Saint Joe’s to outline the support that can be provided by our general education teachers. Each Accommodation Agreement will be tailored to the needs of each student. Some common accommodation examples include:
Preferential seating
Extended time on tests (when needed)
Breaking down extended assignments into smaller pieces
*In order to promote self-advocacy skills, students will be required to communicate with their teachers when they are in need of their accommodations

Individualized Services Plans (ISP) *Provided by the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey In addition to the support provided by an Accommodation Agreement, students who qualify for an ISP may additionally be provided:
Weekly after school support from a special education teacher in a group setting.

Option 1: Provide Saint Joe’s with a copy of a current IEP, ISP, 504 Plan, and/or doctor’s note with a diagnosis and recommended accommodations. (Services from middle schools do not automatically roll over into Saint Joseph H.S.)

Option 2: Request educational testing and psychological testing to be conducted by the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey. Determination of testing eligibility and ISP eligibility will be made by the Educational Services Commission. (Cannot be initiated until the student is attending Saint Joseph H.S. as a full time student).
